VIOLETTA Biography

Violetta was born in Teraspol , Moldova (former republic of the Soviet Union). Since both her father and her grandfather were professional artists, Violetta was exposed to art very early in her life.

In 1975, at the age of 10, she was accepted to the Foynitsky Art School for children. At the age of 14 she was entrusted with the school redecoration project. In 1980 Violetta was pronounced a winner of the city art show.

In 1981 Violetta continued her education at Repin College Of Art. There she studied oil and watercolor painting, graphic art, sculpturing, crafts, history of art, pedagogy. Violetta spent her internship at the Hermitage and Petergof palace in St. Petersburg , Russia and then in Moscow at the Tretyakof gallery, and later at the Museum Of European Art in Kiev, Ukraine . She graduated from Art School with honors in 1985 and was enrolled to Musichesku Art University in Kishinev, Moldova .

In 1986 Violetta won the second place at the International Graphic Art Exhibition and was awarded special honors for being the youngest participant. In 1987 her work was exhibited at the Tiraspol Art Museum , in Romania , Bulgaria and Germany . She continued her education at the Odessa University from which she graduated with a master's degree in art in 1992. After graduation Violetta continued painting and exhibiting her work at various galleries, art shows and exhibitions.

In September 2000 Violetta accepted a teaching position at the Gulf Coast Museum Of Art, St. Petersburg , Florida , teaching oil painting. She also is teaching watercolor at the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida .
